Supported Lodgings in Croydon and Greenwich
For some people we work with lodging with a householder is the best first step to escape housing crisis arises.
At the point at which young people find themselves homeless, finding a safe, stable and reliable base is a critical first step. Our supported lodgings services provide this and more.
Our supported lodgings scheme involves young people living in established homes with established families and we currently work with 100 or so householders.
CAYSH operates a range of lodgings services for various needs in Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley, Croydon and Sutton. The services span 16-21 year olds with some services offering short-stay arrangements and other placements lasting up to two years. All our lodgings services aim to meet national minimum fostering standards.
To ensure the service meets the needs of the young people we work with, we seek guidance from service users and carry out detailed checks to find the best placement for them that meets their needs. Once placed we provide support to both the service user and the householder throughout the placement, using a different staff member for each.
Householders are carefully vetted, comprehensively trained and thoroughly tested before they are able to provide lodgings placements.
